Tributes to Julia Childs
We flew the apron at half-staff over the weekend here in the Fat Cat Kitchen in memory of Julia Childs.
What an amazing woman. She was a trailblazer with her cooking show -- the first of its kind -- and always made delicious food seem within paw's reach for us aspiring Fat Cats. And she did it all in a fun, unpretentious way.
Plus, she rescued us from the sinister encroachment of SPAM casseroles and Tang.
And what did you say Julia? Fat is good!? It adds flavor? Oh yes, you will be missed my friend, you will be missed.

thanks for the link. It's sad to see one of the great ones go.

Normally I wouldn't be this picky, but in view of the circumstances... uh, Julia CHILD. Just one of her, and now she's gone.

Uh, compassrose, you're right. But you'll have to forgive us: we outsourced our editorial department to India so we could free up more money to funnel into offshore tax havens. And do you know how much spell checkers charge nowadays? Forget it my friend.
Plus, we were victims of public schools, so we still haven't figured out that singular vs. plural thing. In our days there were no federal education programs like NCLB (you know, No Cat Left Behind) to help us achieve great thoughts.
