Fat Tips
1. Craft a plan -- Need a gift for the holidays? A birthday? (This warehouse sale is such a bargain you can afford to stash away some cutlery for your summer gift-giving needs).

And are you shopping for yourself (nothing wrong with that), or a loved one? Do you need knives, scissors, cutlery? Set some goals -- and make a list -- so you don't roll through the showroom willy-nilly.

2. Park in the movie theater parking lot -- you'll save yourself the hassle of the inevitable Henckels parking lot traffic jam, especially if you go early in the morning.

3. Grab a plastic tub, and load up... -- you'll find them on a folding table in the entrance to the showroom. And for obvious reasons, you want something thick and sturdy between you and really sharp objects.

4. ... But don't buy it all, yet -- Stake out a quiet corner (brandishing a large butcher knife should cause any idle standers-by to scatter), and take stock. Start going through your tub, knife by gleaming knife. Grab a cutting board (they sell those, too) and do a dry run. Comfortable feel? Good heft? Does it fit your kitchen decor?

If not, set it aside. Now look at your all-stars, and ask yourself: "do I really need this?" (Tip: think back to your list). If so, head to the checkout line.

4. Be patient -- The line will be long but efficient, and the staff is friendly.
