It's that time of year again: the JA Henckels Annual Warehouse Sale in Hawthorne, NY (Westchester County).

Whether you're looking for a gift for that special Fat Cat, or -- admit it -- you just want to pick up some fine cutlery at rock bottom prices for yourself, you can't go wrong with the Henckels warehouse extravaganza... truly the best kept secret around.

This year the sale starts in November, so plan on getting there early for the best selection.

Remember to park in the All Westchester Saw Mill Multiplex Cinema parking lot. You'll need to climb over a small hill, but you'll save a ton of time compared to waiting for a parking spot in the Henckels lot.

As always, we recommend going early (and you just might find yourself going often, it's that addicting). And don't get too carried away -- I know, easier said than done -- but try to use a little fiscal restraint: it's easy to get lulled into the "gee, I need to buy that, too" mindset during the heat of battle. But resist the buy-it-all urge and try to stick to the basics, for your own kitchen at least. (If you want to clutter up someone else's kitchen, we respect and encourage that line of thinking).
